Dental implants can be an effective method of replacing one tooth or several teeth.
A dental implant is a titanium fixture that is surgically placed into the jaw bone. This is done by a specialist, usually a periodontist or an oral surgeon. The implantation process involves several steps and many take up to 3 to 6 months to complete. Inserted into the dental implant is a protruding post on which a crown can be placed.
